Control.
What's the one thing that the Neanderthal and modern humans have in common? Side note. I know that we are incredibly similar in terms of biology but I just can't put my words into the right context. So I'm going to break a little literal law for it. That's right, we were born free. If we were born free, then why are we letting the things that WE CREATE control us?
Money
I've been learning both Economy and Business in college and everywhere I go, I come to the same conclusion. Money don't make our lives better. It just makes everything complicated and it takes the heart out of everything and replaces it with faceless numbers. It's kind of sad really. Money didn't exist back then. It was all done through the barter system. And before that, I truly believe people shared their day's worth out of the goodness of their heart. But hey, you can always say that I have no concrete proof of that. And it's true. I don't.
But think about it. Trade only existed because one individual thought that he's losing by trading a supposedly higher value thing for a lesser product. It only takes one individual to spark a revolution. If that individual hadn't had that idea, would the barter system still be invented? Will money come into the picture? Of course it will. Even if that individual didn't exist back then, it won't take long to find another individual who has that same idea because that's what humans do. We revolutionize.
Time
The same can be said about time, albeit we didn't actually invented time. It was there all this while, it's just that we gave a name to it. It started off as a joke really, but I have gave a considerable amount of time to think about ,well, time. But why should morning start off the day and not the night? And vice versa. Initially, I used to drop a random message to a random person saying "Good morning! It's probably not going to be morning when you see this but it's all right because I'm not typing it in the morning. Why should we be controlled by something that we create?" I know. I'm weird.
Time is a whole different perspective and not all things can be said the same as with money. But just as I mentioned, it's hard to put these things into context because it's there and we can't do anything about it, right?
Wrong. Like I said with money, "Money don't make our lives better. It just makes everything complicated and it takes the heart out of everything and replaces it with faceless numbers." We shouldn't let money be the main motivation nor the main de motivator to everything that we do. And we sure as hell shouldn't let time do the same to us. We're young. We are all young. Til the day the reaper visits us, we are young. We have time. What should be done will be done. What should be love shall be loved.
We shouldn't let money and time control us.
We should control money and time.
